Can Two J-Style Kayak Carriers Fit On A 30" Flush Mount Crossbar?

Question:
Will 30inch flush cross bars the size that fits a 2019 VW sport wagon be able to mount two sets of J holders for two kayaks?

Hello Joe, thanks for reaching out. Yes, it will be possible to two J-Style Kayak carriers on a 30" flush Mount Crossbar. You will want to set it up so the jack of the "J" is facing the center of the vehicle and the carrier is positioned as far outboard as possible. The picture below shows a good example of what this will look like.
For a J-Style carrier, the etrailer Kayak Carrier w/ Tie-Downs # e98878 is what I recommend. This is my personal go-to for carrying kayaks. It is actually the exact carrier in the picture I included. All of the necessary tie downs and anchors are included too.
