Would Malone AirFlow2 Have Bars Higher than Sharkfin Antenna
Updated 10/22/2025 | Published 04/11/2025 >
Question:
Hi there, I have a 2018 4Runner and I travel primarily with paddleboards. Can you confirm that these bars allow for clearance over the fin antenna with the boards centered on the crossbar? Thank you! Mike

Hey Mike, when we had the chance to install the Malone AirFlow2 part # MAL84AR on the roof of a similar 4Runner to your 2018 model we found that the crossbars are taller than sharkfin antenna. So this would allow your boards to fit above the antenna. Especially if you have a rack that attaches to the crossbars that would raise them up a bit.

Hey Mike, how did the clearance work out with the Malone AirFlow2 crossbars on your 4Runner when carrying the paddleboards? Your update could make it easier for the next person wondering about antenna height.
