Can Any Wire be Spliced into Go Power Solar Panel Kit to Extend it
Updated 10/22/2025 | Published 04/04/2025 >
Question:
I have the GoPower MPPT 30 amp controller and I am adding a 2nd controller to accommodate more solar panels. I need to move the original controller about 6 feet away but I cant find any RV-C cable wire to extend the RV-C connection. I have the short parallel cable to link them, but need extra wire to move it 6 feet away. Will any 18 gauge wire sliced in, do? Also, the manual mentions needing to use the RV-C Remote to set up the controllers individually. Do I need this remote if I already have the BMPro JayCommand computer? Can I set them up thru the Jaycommand system?

Hey Robert, yes any appropriate gauge wire would work spliced in as long as it's not speaker wire.

Hey Robert, how did things go after you spliced in the extra wire for your Go Power controller? Did the connection stay stable once you moved it the 6 feet? Sharing what worked could help others expanding their solar setups too.
