If you are experiencing a lot of sway, then you may want to check out a weight distribution system that includes sway control.

If your Gross Trailer Weight (GTW) is more than 50 percent of your towing vehicle you should use a weight distribution system when towing. GTW is the weight of your fully loaded ready to tow trailer. Many of the weight distribution systems we offer feature sway control, and help stabilize the trailer while relieving a lot of stress on the towing vehicle as well. When choosing a system, you will want to look for a system that matches the tongue weight capacity of your trailer.

Since you have a straight tongue on your trailer you will need a pole-tongue adapter like part # RP3280 to allow you to use a weight distribution system. This adapter is designed to work with trailers that have a tongue weight up to 750 lbs and gross towing weight of 7,500 lbs.

I have attached a couple of helpful articles that explain weight distribution, sway-control, and how to determine tongue weight you may want to check out. If you want to send me the information about your trailer and towing vehicle, along with the GTW, tongue weight, and rating of your hitch, I would be happy to recommend some systems that would help take care of your towing problems.
