What is Function of Black Boxes on Tekonsha Trailer Wiring Harnesses Close to Taillight Connectors

I have A 2024 ford Maverick Hybrid. What are the black flat boxes next to the plug-in connectors on the TK53VR? I see the Curt c-59dr does not have them what is the difference? Thanks

Hey Vincent, those little black boxes are essentially little junction boxes that take the two wires per circuit on the input side and converts them to a single wire that runs out of them to the converter box.
