Will BedRug Truck Bed Mat be Cooler for Dog Paws than Spray in Bedliner
Updated 03/31/2025 | Published 03/25/2025 >
Question:
I have a 2023 Honda Ridgeline. My dog loves going for rides locally, but the bed is black and gets HOT. I current have a cut piece of carpet in the back, but Im very afraid of it blowing out. Despite this BedRug Carpet Mat BMH17RBS being black, is it safe to assume it will stay cool for my dogs paws...and will not blow it when she is not in the truck?

Hey Kyle, the BedRug Custom Truck Bed Mat # BMH17RBS that fits your 2023 Honda Ridgeline will work great for you. Since it's a carpet and not black metal surface it will not get nearly as hot from the sun as what your bed currently gets and it will for sure not fly out. Your pup's paws will not get too hot. What kind of dog do you have?

Hi Jameson, Thank you for your reply. My dog in a black lab, with a little bit of Terrier, so a fuzzy black lab, lol. A couple more questions for you. What about the heat of AZ? Will temps of 100 degrees during the summer have any affect on the BedRug or "velcro"? What I've sometimes found with "velcro" is when one goes to separate the two parts, rather than the hook-and-loop releasing, one of the sticky surfaces will peel off. Any issues like that? Thanks again.
