Can the Thule Air Screen and the Thule Motion XT XL Roof Box Be Used at the Same Time
Updated 10/27/2025 | Published 03/24/2025 >
Question:
Do you have any feedback with this fairing being installed under a thule motion xt xl roof box? Itd be hooked up to the thule aero bars. Im wondering if it improves the airflow or makes it worse. The car is a honda crv so its kind of underpowered and with the box on top there is a noticeable decrease in power and mileage. Noise isnt really a concern and I remove the rack and box when its not being used. Thank you!

Hey Jeff, so If I'm understanding you correctly, you want to install the AirScreen XT for Thule Crossbars # TH72WV in front of your Thule Motion XT XL # TH629806? If that's the case, then as long as you have space on your bars you can absolutely do so.
As far as improving air flow or making it worse, in theory the air screen should improve air flow but I've never heard of anyone using both so I can't say for certain.
If you have any other questions, please feel free to drop a comment and let me know!

Hey Jeff, I'm curious if you ended up trying the AirScreen XT with your Thule Motion XT XL on the CR-V. Did you notice any change in airflow or mileage once it was in place? Your results could really help others thinking about the same setup.
