Is the locking mechanism replaceable in this Titan coupler? I have this coupler on a trailer, but the locking mechanism is damaged and needs replaced. Is it necessary to buy the complete unit?

Yes it is, you would want the Repair Kit for Titan Couplers # T1848700 to replace the locking mechanism of your Titan Bolt-On Coupler # T4855300.
