For your 2012 Chevy Silverado you would want the Stromberg Carlson 4000 Series 5th Wheel Louvered Tailgate # VGM-07-4000.
The part number # VGM-99-4000 that you referenced is designed for the older body style Silverados so it is not recommended for you.
