How to Install a Stromberg Carlson Tailgate on a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado

Today on this 2012 Chevrolet Silverado were going to do a test fit of part number VGM-07-4000. This is the Stromberg Carlson 4000 series fifth wheel levered tailgate. Well start off our test fit by removing the original tailgate and then well go ahead and install our new tailgate in the same fashion as the original one went in. Well start off on the drivers side. Well put it on the hinge, and then well go over to the passengers side and hold the tailgate at about a 45 degree angle and slide it on to the pin there. Next well go ahead and install the cables onto the original factory mounts.

They just slip over the bolts. Then well go ahead and shut the tailgate and see how it looks. It works just like a normal tailgate, and it has a locking knob in the middle so you can unlatch it and lock it when you need to. With that, that will finish it for our test fit of part number VGM-07-4000 on our 2012 Chevrolet Silverado.
