Will Grease Break Down in Parked Trailer Over a Couple Years
Updated 03/12/2025 | Published 03/07/2025 >
Question:
Does the bearing grease break down when just sitting here in Florida? We have a 2021 Lance 2375. I replaced the bearings in 2023, cleaned and greased them in April 2024. We only towed 3 hundred miles in 2024. Were planning to tow 3,000 - 4,000 miles this year. Should I clean and grease them again before we go? Itll be over 12 months but not close to 12,000 when we leave in May, 2025. Thanks!

Hey Dennis, yeah you should be fine. Grease does not break down sitting idly in a trailer hub over the course of a couple years. Especially if you used a higher quality grease. It might be worth the peace of mind just to go ahead and redo everything since it's a big trip but if it was me I'd just leave it.
