Hitch for 2020 C300 Convertible

Question:

I have a 2020 c300 Mercedes convertible. Do you guys have a hitch for this car? In your Q and A you answer that the 11485 fits the 2019 and 2021 convertible. I spoke with someone from tech support and he said you don’t have any hitches for coupes/convertibles, only sedans.

@JamesonC. Unfortunately not. Even the very pricey Stealth hitch does not include the cabriolet on its application. I bought a used truck mounted rack for now. I talked with a parts guy at the Mercedes dealership and he didn’t think the cab chassis was different but couldn’t swear to it. Interestingly the bumpers for coupe, sedan, and cab are the same. I might just get the curt hitch and see if it fits. But I loathe the chance it might not.

@WilliamH I'd be a little surprised if it would fit honestly. While the bumpers might look the same it's the vehicle chassis behind the bumper that makes the biggest difference and its very common that convertibles are quite a bit different.

@JamesonC Hey, I found a Curt dealer on eBay that stated the 11485 would fit the 2020 cabriolet. They offered free return shipping so I thought what the heck. I just finished install, and since it attaches to the frame where the bumper does, I can’t imagine it not being secure, besides I only intend it for a bike rack. The “trim” of the bumper cover seems to be a bit different then the coupe or sedan and requires a bit more material removal then the instructions state. I took my time and after multiple trials nailed it. It looks good too. I would think Curt might not commit themselves to “approve” a hitches fit with the research and work that goes into that if the number of vehicles is limited. And convertibles fit that scenario. I’m confident in this install and the excellent video on your website of the 2018 c300 was accurate in every detail except trimming the rear bumper cover. I might add removing the 4 inside studs on the bumper was down played. It was hard as hell to get those off???? Cheers
