1996 Jeep Cherokee Sport 4x4 4 door. Can the stock rear skid plate be used with this hitch?

Yes, you will be able to retain your rear skid shield you have on your 1996 Jeep Cherokee and install the Draw Tite Hitch part # 75054. Certain bolts will need to be loosened for the install to be completed but the shield will stay on.
Check out the install video for the hitch that I attached.
For trailer wiring you would want the Tow Ready wiring harness part # 119178KIT.
For a ball mount, hitch ball, and pin and clip, I would recommend the etrailer Ball Mount Kit, part # 989900. This is a kit which includes 2 ball mounts, a 1-7/8 inch ball, 2 inch ball, and a hitch pin and clip.
