Recommended Brake Controller and Plug in Harness for a 2016 Toyota Tundra

Question:
I have a 2016 Tundra Limited 4x4 with a factory installed brake system. I’ve heard that they act on a delay? I would like to update and currently have a Prodigy P3 controller in my cart. Is that a good choice for my application? And I would need the harness to plug your controller into my truck. Which harness would I need? Thank you.

Yes, it will Mark. The Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller w/ Custom Harness item # TK58UR is exactly what you need for your 2016 Toyota Tundra. It is a proportional brake controller that stops your trailer with the same amount of force you are braking with.
The item # TK58UR includes a harness that will give you a simple plug and play installation, which will require no cutting or splicing of wires. I have linked an installation video below that will show you how to get it set up. If you skip ahead to the 10 min mark you'll see where to find the connector.
What kind of trailer are you pulling?

Hey Mark, how did the setup go with the Prodigy P3 brake controller on your Tundra? Did the proportional braking feel smoother compared to the factory system? Your feedback could really help others looking to upgrade their trailer brakes.
