Hey Ed, thanks for reaching out. With the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 # 90885 the trailer brakes should only apply when the brake pedal is pressed with the vehicle in motion, or when the manual override lever is pressed. If the brakes are activating as soon as you plug in, the first thing to do will be to test your 7-way. It could be the 7-way on the trailer side or truck side is pinned incorrectly which is why you are getting constant signal on the brake pin. Take a look at the diagram below and make sure your trailer and vehicle 7-way are wired correctly. If that does not resolve the issue it could be a short on the brake/12v circuit so I suggest checking your wiring for any damaged or frayed wire that may be causing a short. If you try all this and things still aren't working just reach out to me in the comments below and I am happy to continue to help troubleshoot.

Hey Ed, what ended up happening after you checked the 7-way wiring on your truck and trailer? Knowing if that fixed the constant brake signal could really help others running into the same issue. Your update could make it easier for the next person troubleshooting their Prodigy P2.
