Question:
I’m trying to install a brake controller on a 2006 international 4300. This is a chip body truck with air brakes. Do I have to hard wire this in or can I buy a quick connect harness?

Hey Jon, thanks for reaching out. You can add a brake controller to your 2006 international 4300 with air brakes. The best controller for that is the Hayes Air Actuated Trailer Brake Controller # HA100400C. This allows you to control the electric brakes on your trailer using an air brake semi or truck. This will be a much better option for air brake trucks than a traditional electric brake controller like the Tekonsha P3 # 90195. Take a look at the diagram below and let me know if you have any questions.

Hey Jon, how did things go with the Hayes air actuated brake controller on your International 4300? Did it give you the control you needed for your trailer brakes? Your update could make it easier for the next person with an air brake setup.
