do you have a mirror ext. I can use ? or a bolt on replacement? thankyou,.having a real tough time and wasting time.

The Longview Custom Towing Mirrors part # CTM2300 that you referenced should work well on your 2001 Ford F150 as long as you do not have turn signals on the mirror housings.

If you have turn signals on the mirror housings another option you have is the K-Source Custom Towing Mirrors, # KS81600, will fit your 2001 Ford F-150 with turn signals on the mirror housing. There is space behind the mirror glass on the K-Source towing mirrors for the external turn signal. Keep in mind, this mirror will block the external turn signals.
