Can I Install A 500 lb Motorcycle Carrier On 2022 Subaru Outback With 350 lb Max TW?

Hi, I have a question about the product. I have a Subaru outback wilderness which has 350lbs max tongue weight. You guys say this hitch has 675lbs max tongue weight. Does it mean I can install a hitch carrier and haul a motorcycle which is 500lbs in total? If so, do you have the guarantee for it? Looking for your reply! Thanks.

Hello Zelin, thanks for reaching out. To answer your question, no, you cannot install a hitch carrier and motorcycle weighing 500 lbs total. Your towing setup is only as strong as the weakest component and in this case that will be the 350 max tongue weight rating for your Subaru. Yes, the hitch is tested up to 675 lbs of tongue weight, but the vehicle frame is still only rated for 350 lbs so that will be your max. Trailer hitches are often designed to surpass the actual towing capacity of the vehicle. If you need to haul a motorcycle, using a small trailer will be your best bet.
