Solution for Needing Longer Brackets for Rhino Rack Batwing
Updated 12/15/2025 | Published 11/13/2024 >
Question:
In need of a slightly longer bracket. Do you know of a solution to mount my batwing awning purchased through etrailer and love it to my pioneer platform using a bracket that is just a bit longer than the supplied bracket? As it stands, I cant fully open the back of my 4runner because the spoiler hits the awning. If the awning was just an inch farther away from the vehicle Id be clear. Its so close. Thank you!!

Hey Jeff, your best option would be to use the part # RR31103 with the brackets of the # RR43259 but you will probably have to do some drilling to the brackets though or some other modifications since this isn't the exact intended use for the brackets.

Hey Jeff, did the combo of the RR31103 and your existing brackets give you the extra clearance you needed for the 4Runner’s rear hatch? Sharing how that setup worked could help others trying to mount their Batwing awning the same way.
