Hey Leonard,

The Dometic FreshJet 3 RV Air Conditioner # DMC49ZR has an industry standard 6-pin plug (pictured below). The model number you gave us tells us you have a Quick Cool Series 15,000BTU unit but it unfortunately doesn't tell us what style connector you have so you'll need to do a bit of investigation to make sure this is a compatible fit.

The installation instructions I found for this series does show a 6-pin harness so you should be able to remove the cover to your air distribution box and look up and see the control box and the harness hanging down from your current rooftop unit plugged into it.

If you have the same style plug you'd be able to swap over just the rooftop unit and only have to deal with that one harness. The furnace and thermostat wiring would still be connected to the control box and would function the same. Let me know what you find and I can make sure you have everything you need.

@LeonardD The control box is the brain of your AC system. The rooftop unit would be an accessory just the furnace is with the control box being what tells them to power on. The thermostat is your way of communicating with the control box. If you can connect the unit to the control box then it will still work. For example, if you had a different style connector like a 9-pin because the unit had a heat pump then you would lose that function unless you went with another unit that also had a 9-pin connector and heat pump. In this scenario if you were still switching to the FreshJet 3 # DMC49ZR you would need an adapter like # ACCOLKIT which can switch from 9-pin to 6-pin, but would be missing the heat pump since this model doesn't have one. Long story short, you should be good to go with just the rooftop unit.
