What Lug Nuts Should Be Used With The Aluminum Trailer Wheel

Published 11/05/2024

Question:

I have to replace two lug nuts ,part number AM26NR What would be a better replacement for it ? I have a travel trailer with aluminum rims and need to use a thin deep well socket since there isn’t much wiggle room to get the socket in ? Thanks for the help ??

Hello Jody, thanks for reaching out. For a lug nut to go with the Aluminum Wheels I recommend the Americana Trailer Wheel Lug Nut # AM90070. This is a 1/2" - 20 stainless steel lug nut. It is 2-3/32" long overall which is longer than the # AM26NR so it will work well with the limited room on the wheels.

Would the AM90049 work since it’s a one piece design? The AM26NR was a two piece design and it didn’t hold up on me when I was trying to remove it from the stud.

@Jody Yes! The # AM90049 will work too. I recommended the other one mainly because it is stainless but I feel the same way about the 2-piece lug nuts. They can be a pain for sure.
