Question:

For a single jetski trailer carpet bunks, 20foot strap, Yamaha FX Cruiser HO = 953lbs curb weight, I need to replace a failed DL600A. I would like a winch able to accommodate the jetski with some margin. Also, I would like a brake and/or other safety features. Is the DL14996 a good choice? What is a better alternative? Suggestion? Thanks!

Hi David; Dutton-Lainson Hand Winch w/ Automatic Brake # DL14993 is a great replacement option for your old DL600A. The 1,200 lb capacity gives you a nice buffer, it comes with an automatic brake, and it can use a strap like the # DL24249. I couldn't have picked a better replacement myself.
