2009 ford edge awd has existing 4 pole trailer light hookup. Need to convert to 5 pole in order to activate the surge brake solenoid when backing up. what is best way to get this done and not cause other problems. Thanks

In order to add a 5-Way to your 2009 Ford Edge you can use the 4 to 5-Way adapter # 20036. This will plug into the 4-way you have on your vehicle.
The extra blue wire will connect to the reverse light circuit on the vehicle. Normally this adapter is used from hydraulic surge couplers that have an electric lockout feature. I have included a link to the video you mentioned showing a typical installation.
