Question:
Hi, I have a 2018 Chrysler Pacifica Limited gas only, non-hybrid van. I am interested in a hitch mounted enclosed cargo carrier to transport 2 portable mobility chairs. When folded the mobility chairs measure: chair 1: 43.9inch x 24.4inch x 12.5inch chair 2: 35.5inch x 25inch x 10 It looks like the GearDeck 17 Enclosed Cargo Carrier internal dimensions will just fit the two chairs. Id prefer this to the GearSpace 34 Enclosed Cargo Carrier which I know will work, but seems to be overkill. But Id hate to order the GearDeck only to find the the dimensions dont work. Are there any options in between these two size wise? Can you confirm if the rear liftgate will be able to fully open with either of these cargo boxes attached? Do you have a sense how much rear visibility is blocked with either of these hitch mounted enclosed cargo boxes attached? Thank you in advance, Mike

Thanks for all the information Mike! From the dimensions you listed both the GearSpace 34 item # HGK819 and the GearDeck 17 item # H00604 will work for either of your chairs. We do not have any options in-between the two.
The GearSpace 34 item # HGK819 (dark gray) or item # HGK826 (light gray) has internal measurements of 63" long x 28" wide x 40" tall. The closest part of it when fully extended is 31" from the hitch pin hole. You would need to open your rear door and measure to this point to determine if you'll be able to fully open it. We haven't tested it out on a Pacifica and I do not know how far your door opens past the hitch pin. The top of the cargo box sits 46" above your hitch so this will help you determine how much, if any of your view will be blocked. The GearSpace 34 has a 300 lbs capacity and weighs 160 lbs.
The GearDeck 17 item # H00604 has internal measurements of 46-1/2" long x 24" wide x 25" tall. The closest edge of the carrier when fully extended is 50" from the hitch pin hole. The top sits 35" above the hitch. The GearDeck 17 has a higher capacity at 420 lbs and weighs 80 lbs.

Hey Mike, how did things turn out with the GearDeck 17 and your Pacifica? Were you able to check if the liftgate clears when the carrier is fully extended? Your feedback could really help others trying to fit mobility chairs in a similar setup.
