Does Replacement Power Gear Slide Out Motor Need to be in the Engaged or Disengaged Position
Updated 09/24/2024 | Published 09/21/2024 >
Question:
I have a 2006 Tiffin Allegro Bay and bought Lippert Part 387523 to replace my Power Gear Part 522802 for the bedroom slide What is the correct position for the motor brake? Does it stay in the Engaged or Disengaged position for normal operation? It would be next to impossible to access the motor with the slide pulled in. Any assistance appreciated.

Great question, Michael!
You want the motor brake on the Replacement Gear Motor Assembly for Slide-Out Motor Assembly # LC387523 to be engaged once it's installed. You'll use the "disengaged" feature to manually move the slide out if the need ever arises.

Thanks Jon. With the brake on, I was afraid it would strip the gears or burn up the motor but i guess it disengages when the motor runs and engages when it stops. Thanks again for answering my question. Mike Kruse
