Can Cigarette Adapter Plug Be Added To OptiMate Smart Battery Charger

Question:

Do you see any reason I couldnt put a cigarette adapter plug on your charger to plug the charger into a the 12v circuit of a power station? I want to keep a 12v SLA battery charged from the power station. I could use a 120v charger off the power station, but I think your 12v charger will be more efficient as the power station uses 10W just to have the AC circuit on. Im sure your charger also has an inverter, but should only need to invert up to 13 or 14 volts, so more efficient maybe?

Hi Travis; I don't see a reason why this wouldn't work with the # MA99JR as long as the circuit on the power station can handle it since you're still going DC to DC. However, I will say this for sure voids the warranty so if it doesn't work and results in damage to the charger it won't be covered for a replacement. If you decide to do this I would cut off the leads from one of the cables with the quick connect to attach the 12V accessory plug so you still have the fuse in place for protection.
