Question:
This is regarding the Yakima load bar, part # 8870042. I am interested to get this to use on my non-Yakima basket. The sides bars of the basket is 1inch diameter. Can you confirm the sides of Yakima basket is also 1inch diameter and the clamps will work? I understand the length might need to be shortened on the bar, but I am mostly interested in the end brackets.

The tubing that the Yakima LoadWarrior Cargo Basket is constructed of also has a 1 inch diameter. The top tubes of the LoadWarrior are 38-1/2 inches apart, if the sides of your basket are closer than that, you'd need to shorten the load bar.

I’ve got a skinny warrior, obviously this is too wide for it. However you mentioned shortening it. How would one go about doing that? Just remove the end clamp, cut it to size, and reinstall the end clamp?
