Long Roof Basket For 1997 GMC Suburban

Question:
Our 1997 GMC Suburban has the high roof rails, and while we have the OEM crossbars, we are looking for a roof carrier that we can attach directly to these rails, probably with HD U-clamps. The rails are about 50 inch apart and looking for about 60ish to 84 inch long by 4 to max 6 inch high carrier. We are trying to avoid the crossbars to keep it on a lower profile as well. All we are planning to use it for is an 85 pound canoe and about 20 pounds of gear. Which one would you recommend?

We don't have any type of carrier that mounts directly to the side rails of your 1997 GMC Suburban, I'm sorry to say. The best I can offer is a roof basket that fits onto your crossbars, the Curt Roof Mounted Cargo Basket # C18115-117.
This measures 64-1/2" long x 37" wide x 4" tall so it's got the length and height you are wanting.
