Can the canister be detached if needed in order to haul larger items?

The canister that comes with the PowertraxPRO XR Hard Tonneau Cover # RTX84QR can be removed when you're wanting to haul larger things with your 2020 Chevy Silverado 2500, but since it's connected to the rails you would be taking the entire cover off to do so.

An alternative option would be the BAK Revolver X4s Hard Tonneau Cover # BAK22VR which rolls up into an 8" diameter for more bed access, but the canister on the PowertraxPRO is only 13-1/2" deep so you would be going with a much more basic cover to save 5-1/2" of space.

You could potentially utilize the Curt Universal Truck Bed Extender with Fold-Down Tailgate # C57WR for more space as long as you don't exceed the weight rating of your tailgate.

Hey G, how did things work out with the PowertraxPRO XR cover on your Silverado when you needed to haul larger items?
