Can Dexter Coupler for 3 inch Wide Channel Fit in Place of UFP A-60

Question:
REF: T4845000 I have 2019 Magic Tilt 17- Trailer with the Surge Brake ACTUATOR 7500 SDB UFP A60 and folding tongue. I want to remove the braking components well under 3000 and truck towing cap. for less maintenance. I am wondering if this part can fit in the tongue when the current assembly is removed? Ive already checked with local jurisdiction and codes. As long as Im under GVWR 3000, Im legally good to bypass the brakes.

Hey Thomas, yes the Dexter coupler part # T4845000 can be used in place of your UFP surge brake actuator as this was also designed to fit 3 inch wide channels like what you have now.

Hey Thomas, how did the swap to the Dexter coupler go on your Magic Tilt trailer? It’d be great to hear if it fit cleanly in place of the old UFP actuator. Your update could make it easier for the next person doing the same change.
