Recommended Replacement for 6" RV Speakers That Has a 5" Cutout

Updated 01/27/2026 | Published 08/17/2024

Question:

The RV speakers I am trying to replace are 6 inches in diameter and fit into a 5 inch cut out with plenty of space behind the speaker. I would like to use same holes for mounting. Center to center is 3-7/8 inch. Inner to inner is 3-3/4. The MS5006WR are slightly off. Do you have any speakers with exact measurements or is this close enough? Do you have other speakers that align exactly? Any Suggestions? Perhaps a 7 inch speaker if I have to create new holes? Thanks

Hey John, I'd suggest upping the speaker size to 7 1/8" and use the Jensen Marine Speakers # MS6007SR instead. The cutout is 5" so it'll fit your existing holes, but the mounting holes are 4 1/2" on center so you'd have to drill new mounting holes.

These speakers are silver in color, has a coaxial design which are a bit better than dual cone speakers, and has a built in crossover which reduces distortion for clearer sounds.

Hey John, how did the swap to the 7-1/8 inch Jensen speakers go with your existing cutouts? Your results could really help others trying to match their old RV speaker holes.
