Can a Non-Locking Tailgate Handle Be Installed on a 2007 Chevy Colorado with Locking Handle
Updated 05/20/2014 | Published 05/18/2014 >
Question:
My truck was a company utility truck and has no lock assembly on rear tailgate latch. Can I replace this lock PAL 1700 with a prior non-locking system and secure the tailgate latch with lock and key? Thanks...

Any tailgate handle and lock that is designed to fit a stock 2007 Chevy Colorado can be used provided that nothing prevents it from being installed. If the tailgate latching mechanism operated by the handle was damaged or modifications to the tailgate were made then a lock and handle such as # PAL1700 may not fit. I have included a link to the tailgate locks we carry for the 2007.
