Recommended Replacement Bulb Seal for a 2020 Forest River Sabre Cobalt

Updated 08/09/2024 | Published 08/05/2024

Question:

Im looking for the correct D bulb seal replacement for my 2020 Forest River Sabre Cobalt. It appears to measure 1 1/8 across the bottom and 1 3/8 tall. Maybe 1 1/16 wide by 1 1/4 tall. Seems to change each time I measure it. Which product is it you recommend to replace it?

Perry, so it looks like the closest we have to what you measured is the Rubber Bulb Seal for RV Slide Out # SR37FR, which measures 1 3/16" wide and 1 3/16" tall, which is 1/16" shorter x 1/8" wider than what you measured.

If you're uncertain about your measurements, I'd just try again taking a piece off the seal and measuring the width and height as is.

I noticed at the bottom of the page someone asked about the size of the channel. Mine is also 13/16". The D-seal I removed is the same measurement that you recommend after rechecking. It's quite loose though it's never come off in the 3 years and 9 months I've owned the trailer. My question is: Will the 1" x 15/16" bead be tall enough as long as I replace the top and both side seals? Seems like it would be but don't have any experience with replacing these seals in the past.

@Perry I honestly am not sure about that, It's always recommended to replace your seals with the exact same size seals so if I were you I'd just replace them with the ones you have now.

@BryceD Thank you for your honest reply. I've run across quite a few folks (not at trailer.com) that will give an answer that turns out to be wrong later. I'll see what my local RV parts place comes up with. They have contacted Forest River and are waiting for a reply. This has been an interesting quest for knowledge so far. It's easy to replace the seals physically. Knowing what works and what doesn't appears to be more elusive. In the mean time, I'll measure a couple of the other seals to see what the real measurement is and go from there.

@Perry Yeah no worries Perry sorry I couldn't be more of a help. I am curious to know what they say, though. If you can, feel free come back with that info so we can get it on our site.
