Question:
I have a 2016 Yukon XL Denali that I want to put one of your Pioneer Racks on top. I use it for a business where I fly thermal drones to find missing pets and livestock. I would like a size that covers the entire top except where the sunroof is. Further, I will be purchasing one of your Batwing canopies to attach to it, so I need to know that the Batwing is compatible. Please let me know as I am ready to order. Thanks!

Hi Rob,
That's a really cool business and we can certainly get your 2016 GMC Yukon XL set up with a Rhino-Rack Pioneer platform rack. That said, the exact thing you are looking for - one that cover the entire top but not the sunroof - isn't an option, though I'll go over what you can do. So for the largest one that does cover most of your roof, you would need the Rhino-Rack Pioneer Platform Rack with Backbone Mounting System # RR25TB.
The # RR25TB gives you the largest platform at 84" long x 49" wide, but a portion of it will go over your Yukon's sunroof. If that's a dealbreaker then the other option is a Pioneer that attaches to a roof rack, and for that you'd need the Rhino-Rack Vortex Roof Rack # RR26ZE and Rhino-Rack Pioneer Roof Rack Platform for Crossbars # RR42115BF.
The roof rack will attach to the fixed mounting points on your Yukon's side rails, and you'll attach the Pioneer to the bars. The # RR42115BF is 58" long x 47" wide though, so you won't be getting as much coverage and space.
Then for the Batwing awning that will work with either option you can use the Rhino-Rack Batwing Awning - Driver's Side # RR33100 or Passenger's Side # RR33200.

Will this include the Backbone System? Or can it work with this system? This is on my 2016 Yukon XL Denali. I just want to see if I can get the Backbone on the sides with the 84" long x 54" wide. I don't care that it goes over the sunroof. So that would be the system that I would be going with. Thanks!
