Does Curt Trailer Wiring for 2013 Volkswagen Golf Require Trip to Dealer

Question:
I bought a Curt C59236 to use on a 2013 Volkswagen Golf TDI hatchback. Ive tried many different wire combinations, nothing works fully. I was going to take it to get installed at a shop but they said they cant install on VW as the car needs to be taken to Dealer to have the car programmed differently in order for trailer wiring harness to work?

Hey Bruce, the Curt trailer wiring harness part # C59236 that you referenced is a fit for your 2013 VW Golf TDI although it is a universal style kit. The shop you went to was confused though as this does not require a trip to the dealer to install. They must have been thinking of an OEM type option.
