Where to Plug In a Trailer Brake Controller on a 2014 Toyota Tacoma

I cannot seem to find a break controller for my 2014 Tacoma that has the right connector. The owners manual indicates the placement of the connector as in a wiring bundle up under the dash on the drivers left side. I located the wiring bundle and pulled the only connector that is unused out.The connector is rectangular and has a shorting cap apparently for diagnostic purposes. The Prodigy that is indicated for the 2014 Tacoma does not have a connector that will mate with this connector. I am including a photo of the connector. Thank You.

We do not have a brake controller wiring harness that matches the one in your picture. I am not entirely certain this connector is the brake controller port though since there are so many pins in it. What I recommend is to take the truck to a dealer and ask them what that harness is for and if it is not the brake controller harness then ask them where the harness is supposed to be.
Sometimes the harness can fall behind the kick panel to the left of the brake pedal and in front of the driver side door. If your truck did not come with a factory 7-Way then the harness will not be there.
If they tell you that it is the brake controller harness then ask them for the Toyota harness, which they should have given you anyway if the truck has a factory tow package. Sometimes they stick them in the glove compartment.
All of the aftermarket brake controller wiring harnesses have the same connector that is on the # 3040-P harness so it does not seem likely that they would all make the same mistake in the design of the connector.
