Hey, how did things go with the Bauer camper door lock after learning it only controls the deadbolt? Knowing how it worked out could help others looking for the same type of lock.

@JerredH I did not get the BA65FR. Your response that the lock on the outside and inside only controls the deadbolt lock was accurate. I instead bought the BA64FR. There were very minor variations in size from the original Bauer lock, but it worked find for a Hewescraft 220 boat door. My door has no holes for the deadbolt to actuate, my main concern was having to modify my door for the deadbolt (the square piece in the photos). On the exterior of the BA64FR door lock, there are two key holes. One hole moved the deadbolt. It needs to be know that the exterior key hole in the upper right is the only way to lock the deadbolt on the outside, there is no way to lock the deadbolt from the inside. I only use the exterior key hole that locks the handle in place. On the inside, it is only possible to lock the exterior handle. It is NOT possible to use the deadbolt from the inside of the door. This works fine in my application because I am unable to use the deadbolt due to the lack of a hole in my door frame, and feel no need for extra security. Lastly, the 'mushroom' shaped alignment pins were cut off. There is no application for them on my boat door. It seems to have made no difference in functionality. I also did not use the strike plate as it was not stainless steel and it would not function in my door without modification.
