What to Do if Trailer Hitch Starts Rusting

I have a hitch that is developing rust. only a few years old what can be done to repair and prevent further rust

Hey Greg, it is a bummer to see hitches rust but they unfortunately tend to do that. It normally takes quite a bit of salt exposure for it to be an actual problem but best option is to paint over it with a paint designed for rusty metal like Rustoleum Rust Reformer. I have used this specific brand of paint and had great results.
