Does The Yakima BaseLine Roof Rack Y46XB Come With Locks?

Updated 07/16/2024 | Published 07/02/2024

Question:

Do these come with locks? I dont see mention as option or as included? There are some competitors that have as an option for the same/ similar price shown here. Interested in Yakima or Thule cross rails for naked roof 2024 Toyota Camry Hybrid. Prefer the flatinch rails aero, wing,, etc as our kayak racks seem to work best on the flatter rails.

Hello Todd. The Yakima BaseLine Roof Rack # Y46XB does not include locks. They are sold separately, and I recommend getting a set of 4 locks which is part # Y07204. You can do two locks, part # Y07202 if you want to save a few bucks. Two is still enough to lock the rack to the roof if you put both locks on the same side (1 for each crossbar).

Thanks Jesse! Two final questions: Any recommendation for the Thule (WIngbar, EVO) vs the Yakima (Jet Stream) for the 2024 Camry Hybrid? Pros and Cons of each? Does the Y97UB come with everything that is needed to install to car (aside from the locks, which are extra)? BR, Todd

@Todd Out of those two options, I recommend the Yakima JetStream Roof Rack # Y97UB which is for the 2024 naked roof Camry Hybrid. This does come with everything you need to install, aside from the locks. The Yakima JetStream bars are quite similar to the Thule. The main difference is the Yakima bars have a continuous channel that funs the full length of the bottom of the bar. This allows virtually any bar size to be mounted on any vehicle. Other roof racks like Thule will be limited to only one (sometimes two) bar sizes. So, the Yakima racks are more user friendly and versatile. I generally prefer Yakima over Thule anyways. Not to mention that Thule currently does not list any fits for the 2024 Camry, so Yakima is definitely the way to go.
