Swing Out Bike Rack Recommendation for Jetson E-Bikes

Updated 02/03/2026 | Published 06/28/2024

Question:

Hi Kef, we too have the Jetson ebikes. They are the Jetson Haze bikes with 16" wheels. I need a bike rack for my 2010 Jeep Wrangler Sport 2 dr., but I will also need the rack to swing out of the way to the passenger side so I can open the back door. Also want a cover for the bikes while transporting on the rack. FYI: I tow the Jeep behind our Motorhome if that makes a difference. Please advise and thanks ahead.

Hey W, I would recommend the Yakima OnRamp e-bike rack par # Y88DJ with the BackSwing pivot part # Y02483. This will give you an e-bike rack that has the higher weight capacity you need that has the ability to swing out with bikes loaded (to passenger side) like you are wanting and also has a ramp setup to make loading and unloading the bikes easier.

For a bike rack cover then you'd want the part # S24FR but you'd only be able to use it when the rack is used behind the motorhome since it's only vehicle that blocks enough wind to not whip the cover around and damage the vehicle.

Hey W, how did the Yakima OnRamp rack and BackSwing setup work out on your Jeep when towing behind the motorhome? It’d be great to hear if the swing-away feature made it easier to access the back door. Your update could make it easier for others with a similar setup.
