What is Used to Connect Running Light Circuit Trailer Wire to Both Sides of Trailer

Published 06/24/2024

Question:

Hi, Ill be rewiring my boat trailer with item TLL9RK. Also replacing both marker lights with items AL91AB and A91LW. Im assuming Ill need to cut the brown wire in the long harness on each side of the trailer to splice in the pigtail item A91LW? Is there a 3 way heat shrink butt connector available for this or do i have to a brown end and the end of the A91LW pigtail into one end of an 18 gauge 2 end butt connector? will the 2 ends even fit into an 18 gauge connector? As I understand it, the wire harness for the trailer itself is 18 gauge wire.

Hey Jim, there isn't a connector specifically designed for combining the three wires needed to power the running light circuit on both sides of the trailer so you would need to run all three to a butt connector like the part # DW05714.
