Can I jack Up My Vehicle By Placing The Jack Under The Hitch Receiver?
Updated 02/03/2026 | Published 06/23/2024 >
Question:
I just installed 76227 on a 2019 Subaru Outback. I was wondering if it would be okay to jack the vehicle up by placing the jack at the most forward part of the receiver hitch? This center position would get both tires of the ground at once.

Hello Roger, great question. The Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 76227 can indeed be used as a jack point for lifting the vehicle. What I recommend doing is using the receiver or crosstube of the hitch to raise the vehicle off the ground, then using jack stands to support the vehicle while you do your work.

Hey Roger, how did things go when you used the Draw-Tite hitch to lift your Outback? Did the hitch hold steady while you supported the vehicle with jack stands? Your experience could help others planning to do the same.
