Solution for Advent Air RV AC Unit that Replaced Dometic and Doesn't have All Three Speeds
Updated 06/18/2024 | Published 06/12/2024 >
Question:
Hello Mike, just changed my dometic out with the 15000 advent unit. Dometic thermostat and I take it controller only had low and high fan speeds. Unit works great. What do I need to do if I want the threefan speeds? Change thermostat and controller? Should I just change out my lower unit? Thanks RT.

Hey RT, since your Dometic 13500 BTU air conditioner only had a two speed fan, but the Advent Air # ACDOM150 you just installed has a 3 speed fan you will need to replace your current thermostat and air distribution box.
I recommend the Air Distribution Box w/ Wall-Mounted Thermostat for Advent Air RV Air Conditioners # ACRG15 which includes everything you need, and it will all be an exact replacement for your current components. This will allow you to get the 3rd fan speed working and the air distribution you expected.

Hello Jameson. I ordered and received the lower unit to my Advent. Installing was easy. Getting the AC wired went well. The DC 12 v. not so much. I could use just a bit of help. I have pics of my current supply and t- stat wires. I’ll just say I was kicked yesterday trying to do something I had no business doing. I have live 12 v feed trying to determine what is supply, common and ground. I appreciate any assistance you can give me. Thanks Robert.
