Question:
we have a 2007 dodge ram 3500 short bed truck. We were given the reese 5th wheel hitch for the trailer we bought from a private sale. In the kit we bought it said that we needed part 58186 to also use in the installation of the hitch. Do we need 4 brackets have to buy 2 kits or do we just need 2 brackets that come in the one kit? Brackets in the back and not in the front or brackets in front and back of rails.

Hey Anna, the Reese fifth wheel install bracket kit part # RP58186 is a set of rear brackets that your 2007 Dodge Ram 3500 needs to be used with the universal rail kit part # RP30035. You only need to install one set of these as the rear rail brackets.
