Question:

Is the RP30048 compatiable with an RP 30870 R20 hitch upper unit?

The Reese Square Tube Slider # RP30048 is not compatible with the old Reese R20. The only way to get a replacement base would be to find a used one. If you are unable to find a replacement base the only option would be to replace the hitch with one like the Curt A20 # C16541.

Thank you, unfortunately I don’t think the curt hitch will fit the reese rails in my truck, Your thoughts?

@RichM your Reese rails are probably standard which would mean the Curt hitch would fit. Compare the measurements on your rails to those in the picture above. If the measurements match you have industry standard rails.

Thanks , I am going to go with the A25 slider since the R20 hitch is not available until Sep 2024 due to limited stock. It should fit the old rails are 22” apart per the standard. Thanks agin for the help. Rich M
