Question:
I dont know which brake controller would suite my needs the best .I have a 20 ft 2 axle camper with electric brakes that weights about 4200 empty and pulling it with my 2013 Tacoma w/ 6 speed manual transmission with tow package . what controller would you suggest to get the job done

If you have never used a brake controller before, the P3, # 90195, would be a good choice because of its many features, but more importantly because of its easy to read and understand diagnostics. It will tell you if there is a problem and what the problem is so you don't have to hunt down codes.
This is also a proportional controller that will apply the trailer brakes in proportion to how much your Tacoma is braking. This is the safest way to stop and it reduces wear and tear on the trailer and the truck. I have linked a couple of videos on the P3 for you.
On a 2013 Toyota Tacoma with factory installed 7-Way trailer connector the only other item you will need is harness # 3040-P to plug in the controller to the truck. Don't forget a clean metal surface to attach the extra ground wire!
I have also included for you a link to our informational article that will tell you more about brake controllers.
