Question:
Hello, I just purchased a travel trailer and the coupler and latch appear to beCA-5400-B. It is loose on the 2 5/16 hitch ball of my Andersen weight distribution hitch, as well as on another 2 5/16 ball that I have. Is there a fix to tighten this up? As it is the ball moves around quite a bit when latched to the coupler. Thanks.

Hello Barbara. The # CA-5400-B A-Frame Coupler should be snug on a 2-5/16" ball. If yours is loose it could be due to a bad latch, or the inside of the coupler has just worn out over time and caused it to become loose. Unfortunately there is not repair kit available for this coupler, so your best option would be to remove the old coupler and install a new one.
If you do end up replacing it, I suggest the Demco A-Frame Coupler # DM15633-81. These are known to be more durable, and have better quality latches than most other couplers.
