Question:
Tekonsha P3 Trailer Brake Controller Prodigy 90195 - I am going to purchase one of these and just wanted to ask. Do you have an installation video for a 2005 GMC Envoy XL? Or at least wiring color to color instructions? Thank You

We do not happen to have an installation video for the Tekonsha P3 # 90195 being installed in a 2005 GMC Envoy but we do have one for a 2004 model year. Both model years are part of the second generation of the Envoy so the majority of features and characteristics will be largely the same for the two vehicles. I have linked that video for your reference along with the instructions for the P3.
You will need to locate 4 wires up under the dash; these are usually taped to other wiring and can be accessed by removing a small trim panel. The four wires under the dash, orange, dark blue, light blue and black, will connect to the wiring on the P3 as follows, using the supplied butt connectors.
Envoy BLACK wire connects to P3 WHITE wire
Envoy DARK BLUE wire connects to P3 DARK BLUE wire
Envoy ORANGE wire connects to P3 BLACK wire
Envoy LIGHT BLUE wire connects to the P3 RED wire
You will want to be certain that you mount the P3 to your Envoy's dash so that its orientation is parallel to the direction of travel; this will ensure proper operation of the internal accelerometer. This is also detailed in the written instructions.
