Does this cover have to be opened or released in order to close the tail gate? Or, can it remain closed and then the tailgate be shut?

You can operate the tail gate on your 2024 GMC Canyon with the TruXedo Sentry Hard Tonneau Cover # TX95NV open or closed. The tonneau cover latches itself on the side rails so there is nothing actually connecting it to the tail gate.

Thanks, Bud. A previous cover that I had had to be lifted a bit to close the tailgate and I want to avoid that. It was a hassle.
