Is Furrion Automatic Transfer Switch Ground Required If Inverter Is Grounded
Updated 03/07/2024 | Published 03/06/2024 >
Question:
I have installed the Furrion 30A ATS in my Winnebago Travel Trailer. The ATS is connected between Shore Power and my Renogy 2000W inverter. Its working properly as expected but reviewing what I did during installation, I dont remember grounding the ATS, while all 3 copper wires are screwed in to the GROUND BAR inside the ATS Box. Do I need to ground the ATS if the Inverter is already grounded to the trailer?

Expert Reply:
Yes, you still need to ground the # F30ATS which is listed in the instructions. Connect the chassis grounding 10AWG wire to the grounding terminal block on the inside of the transfer switch box. Use the 3/8” through hole to feed the wire through from the outside of the box directly to the terminal block.
